Understanding How Anti-Jewish Oppression Became the Template for Racism and Anti-Immigrant Oppression
WEBINAR DESCRIPTION
Want to end racism? Then we must understand and end Anti-Jewish Oppression. Anti-Jewish Oppression (AJO) is one of the oldest, systemic, and institutionalized oppressions. AJO is the template for newer expressions of oppression including racism, xenophobia, and anti-immigrant oppression. Confusions about what anti-Jewish oppression is and how it operates undermine social justice movements and coalition-building. The inability to understand the history and current day context of anti-Jewish oppression makes non-Jews vulnerable to colluding with and perpetuating this oppression, ultimately derailing our collective liberation efforts. During this webinar, we will invite Jews and allies alike to heal from and stand together against the oppression of Jewish people. As the Jewish mitzvot Tikkun Olam commands: we will heal ourselves and as we engage in the work of repairing the world.
